Police Seek Additional Victims Of Massage Therapist Guilty Of Sexual Battery

SANTA MONICA (CBS) — Police are looking for additional victims after a man sexually assaulted a woman while giving her a massage.

Massage Technician Jesse Tovar, 23, was arrested last April for a sexual assault the occurred at The Massage Company, 201 Wilshire Blvd., in Santa Monica.

"The victim alleged that Tovar put his hands down her underpants during a massage and digitally penetrated her against her will," Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department said.

He pleaded guilty on March 16 to one felony count of false imprisonment and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery stemming from a 2011 incident

Tovar was sentenced to six months in jail, 30 days of community service and counseling. He must also register as a sex offender.

Tovar is scheduled to surrender to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department on April 11.

The Santa Monica Police Department is asking anyone else who may have been victimized by Tovar to report it to the Santa Monica Police Department at (310) 458-8983.
