NORWALK (CBS) — A teen shot in Norwalk is near death, according to authorities.

Officials did not release information about the shooting, but KCAL9 learned the victim is approximately 15.

The shooting is believed to be gang related.

The shooting occurred just after 6:40 p.m. Wednesday evening in the 11900 block of Firestone Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Pope.

The boy is listed as “death imminent” at an area hospital.

Deputy Benjamin Grubb said two men approached the teen as he was standing near the rear of a business.

“One or both of the suspects shot the victim several times” before fleeing on foot, Grubb said.
