No Tickets Sold With All Six Mega Millions Lottery Numbers
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Feeling lucky? There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery and the estimated jackpot for Friday’s drawing will grow to $290 million.
There were 68 tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, including 21 in California. One winning ticket was sold at Blue Bird Liquor, 13746 S. Hawthorne Blvd., in Hawthorne, which has a history of making lottery dreams come true.
The ones sold in California are each worth $56,382, while the other 47 are each worth $250,000, a California Lottery official announced.
California law requires most major payoffs of lottery games in the state to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.
The numbers drawn Tuesday night were 1, 4, 6, 11, 14 and the Mega number was 30. The estimated jackpot was $241 million.
The drawing was the 16th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 40.
The Mega Millions game is played in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
