Family Says Aspiring Actress Was Drugged, Held Captive By Sex Offender For Months

BEVERLY HILLS (CBS) — An aspiring actress from a small town in Tennessee had been missing for months when she recently was dropped off at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills.

LAPD Detective Carmine Sasso spoke to 24-year-old Satara Stratton moments after she was found. He said she was in need of medical attention but responsive.

"She was concerned and emotional and wanted to be with her family," Sasso said.

CBS2 has now learned that police have launched a criminal investigation into Stratton's unusual disappearance.

Stratton's family said they believe their daughter was drugged, tortured, attacked and held against her will for four months.

Sasso said that many people come out to Los Angeles seeking fame and fortune – for all those people there are even more predators living in the City Of Angels.

Stratton, who uses the name Satara Silver in film credits, had a small part in "Cult Movie" and "Outtake Reel", according to IMDB.com.

LAPD sex crime detectives are looking into possible foul play and suspicious circumstances in Stratton's case.

The girl's family said she had a clean record and was never in any kind of trouble before coming out to Hollywood.

Stratton's mother said they were in regular contact and that her daughter had called to say she had gotten some small parts in movies and TV shows. Then, communication suddenly stopped, prompting her mother to report her missing.

Authorities said they have continued to interview the man who dropped Stratton off at the hospital. Paul Constatinescu, 46, is a registered sex offender convicted of sexual acts with minors. The Hollywood resident is listed on the Megan's Law website.
