Witnesses Sought In Double Hit-And-Run Crash That Killed Elderly Woman

PACOIMA (CBS) — LAPD detectives are looking for possible witnesses of a hit-and-run crash that killed a 79-year-old woman.

Virginia Ramirez, of Pacoima, was first struck by a car as she crossed Glenoaks Boulevard at Mercer Street in an unmarked crosswalk. Police say the driver, only described as a Hispanic male, got out of his truck, looked at the victim in the street, then got back in and drove away.

That truck was described as a bright red, possibly Nissan Frontier truck.

A second car, described as a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by a woman, was then seen running over Ramirez as she lay in the street.

Drivers involved in any crash are required to stop, render aide, identify themselves or notify authorities by law.

Anyone with information about the crash can call Officer Jennifer Ward at (818) 644-8114  or (818) 644-8000.
