LAPD Officer Gregory Baek was quoted by the LA Times. He said police arrived at the property and were met by the suspect. “He told the officers he had killed his father with some kind of hammer,” Baek said.

The father was pronounced dead at the scene. The son was taken into custody.

The names of the victim and suspect were held pending notification of next of kin.
