At Least 6 Injured In Collision Between Blue Line Train And Car Downtown

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — At least six people have been injured after a Metro Blue Line train and car crashed downtown, according to authorities.

One person was possibly ejected from the vehicle and at least one has to be extricated, said witnesses at the scene.

Nearly 40 firefighters are on scene.

The extent of all the injuries is unknown.

The crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. at Venice Boulevard and Flower Streets, according to Cecil Manresa of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities said there will be major traffic delays downtown. The Blue Line has been suspended between Pico and Grand.
