SAN MARINO (CBS) — Police in San Marino have released a composite sketch of a man who robbed an elderly couple after pretending to be a city inspector.

Last Tuesday, the man, who only identified himself as John, said he needed to inspect their backyard for upcoming city utility construction.

An accomplice then burglarized the couple’s home while he was distracting them.

As he left, he stole the woman’s diamond wedding ring off her finger.

Anyone with information about the suspect was asked to contact the San Marino Police Department.
