Doctors Say Vasectomy Appointments Go Up During March Madness

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — There are apparently men out there who love college basketball so much, they are resorting to getting a vasectomy in order to stay home during March Madness.

Some doctors are seeing more men asking for the sterilization procedure during this time of year. The procedure has a recovery period of about three days, and recovery consists of sitting and resting, probably with an ice pack, and probably in front of the TV.

The trend led one urology practice in Richmond, VA. to reserve the web address www.vasectomymadness.com and is promoting it as a way to "spend three days on the couch watching hoops with your wife's approval," according to USA Today.
