Arrest Made In OC Native American Jewelry Thefts
LAGUNA BEACH (CBS) — A 51-year-old Corona del Mar man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of burglarizing at three stores for their Native American jewelry.
Laguna Beach Police say a DNA analysis linked Jeffrey Todd Stark to two Laguna Beach commercial burglaries and a Newport Beach burglary.
Stark owns a car matching the description of one seen leaving the most recent burglary on March 10, according to a news release.
When police searched Stark's home, several stolen pieces of Native American jewelry taken from the Laguna Beach burglaries. Stark also matches the description of the suspect and had injuries consistent with the DNA evidence left at the scene.
Stark has been booked at the Laguna Beach Police Department. Police say they plan to file charges of commercial burglary and possession of stolen property against him and may add additional charges at a later date.
