LOS ANGELES (CBS) — One of the nation’s largest mortgage holders is reaching out to struggling homeowners.

On March 14-15, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., more than 1,200 homeowners are expected to attend the free Wells Fargo two-day Home Preservation Workshop at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Wells Fargo says homeowners will be able to meet one-on-one with a loan modification expert and may walk away with a principal reduction or even a moratorium on payments for those out of work.

This workshop is a crock! I attended one and they arent really trying to help you, they are trying to keep you paying, even when you cant afford it,. I was there for 7 hours and all they offered me was to lower my payment for a few months and add it on the end of my loan. Knowing that my husband has been out of work and we have lost 2/3 of our income, this is all they could do for us! When we told them we couldnt do that they said well nothing we can do for you then.
