Witness: Fontana Fish Market Gunman Was Co-Owner Of Store

FONTANA (CBS) — The gunman who killed a woman and critically injured her husband at a fish market in Fontana was reportedly the co-owner of the market.

Lam Randy Hoan, 47, surrendered to police immediately after the shooting at the Fontana Seafood Market about 7 p.m. Sunday night. He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder.

A woman between 40 and 50 years old was shot several times in the upper torso. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

A man between 40 and 50 years old was also shot several times in the upper torso area, but is in stable condition. Police say he is expected to survive.

Their names have not yet been released.

The victims were married and were owners of the market. Police confirmed that Hoan also worked at the market, but did not specify whether he was a co-owner. An employee who witnessed the attack said that Hoan is a co-owner of the market and her former boss.

Fontana Police say they are still investigating the shooting to determine the suspect's motive, but did say that they were having some sort of a dispute over a yet unknown issue.
