Bomb Scare Prompts Evacuation Of LAX Terminal

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The bomb squad investigated a suspicious package at a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport Monday afternoon.

The unattended package was found at the end of the upper Terminal 2 lobby around 2:40 p.m., airport police officials said.

A K-9 unit later determined that the package was suspicious, police said.

The terminal was evacuated and traffic temporarily stopped on the upper level.

Authorities determined the package was not a threat just before 4 p.m.

No additional details were released.
