Lilly Cruises Past Cubs

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers took advantage of Matt Garza's wildness and beat the Chicago Cubs 5-0 Sunday.

Tony Gwynn Jr. had a two-run single to cap the Dodgers' four-run second inning and Ted Lilly had a smooth outing for the Dodgers after struggling in his spring debut. Lilly gave up one hit, one walk and hit a batter with a pitch.

Garza gave up four runs and three hits, walked two and hit a batter in 1 1-3 innings. The Cubs were shut out for the first time this spring and had only one hit through the first five innings.

Trent Oeltjen had two hits and scored two runs for Los Angeles.
