Coroner IDs 4-Year-Old Girl Found Dead In Closet Inside Westchester Apartment

WESTCHESTER (CBS) — Coroner's officials Saturday released the identity of a 4-year-old girl who was found dead earlier this week in her Westchester apartment.

The child, identified as Miriah Cobb, was found unresponsive inside a closet of a back bedroom of an apartment in the 8600 block of Belford Avenue.

Police said that a call came in around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to coroner's officials, Cobb's cause of death is pending toxicology tests.

Sources for CBS2/KCAL9 say the child was found hanged inside the closet and residents of the Carmel Apartments apparently heard the same.

Investigators believe the incident is a tragic accident, but an investigation is ongoing.
