Who Will Advance To The NCAA Tournament From The LA Area?

(CBS) -- We're less than a week away from Selection Sunday, and things could be better for the local schools.

We have nine schools playing D1 basketball in the area, and only Long Beach State can feel good about their chances of earning a bid to the big dance.

The 49ers played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the nation and it should reward them if they get upset in the conference tournament.

LBSU will be without Big West defensive player of the year, Larry Anderson, who suffered a knee injury in the season finale against Fullerton. The 49ers are hopeful he can return at some point in the postseason.

Projection: Will win the Big West tournament and secure an 11,12 or 13 seed in the tournament.

Lose and they could be the ultimate bubble team.
