Child Services Employee Among Dozens Arrested In Prostitution Sting

SUN VALLEY (CBS) — Over 30 people, including a Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services employee, were arrested Thursday in an undercover prostitution sting involving female officers who posed as hookers.

Mark Anthony Moton, 42, was on duty and driving a county-issued vehicle when he solicited a prostitute and was subsequently arrested, police said.

Moton works closely with children under the DCFS' care and monitors court ordered visits with families. He has also been accredited as an outstanding staff member by the department, DCFS officials told CBS2.

The operation was conducted from 4 a.m. Wednesday to 12 a.m. Thursday on Lankershim Boulevard between San Fernando Road and Neenach Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officials say the area is known for a high volume of prostitution activity.

Moton will be placed on unpaid administrative leave during the criminal proceedings, Philip Browning, Director of the DCFS, said.

Moton posted bail on Thursday and will make his first court appearance on March 28.
