Macy, Huffman 2nd Married Couple To Get Stars On Walk Of Fame

HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Emmy winners and married couple William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday, marking the second time a married couple has been honored with stars on the same day.

Playwright David Mamet and Oscar-winning screenwriter and television producer Aaron Sorkin were among those present at the ceremony as Macy and Huffman gave a tag team speech describing their first meeting and highlights of their respective careers.

"The first time I saw the stars on Hollywood Boulevard, I was working on a TV commercial at Gower studios as a carpenter, building sets," Macy said.

Huffman added, "The first time I saw the stars I was 15 and my mother gave me the money to move to Hollywood for a year. I was too young to drive so I rode my bike up and down the boulevard, counting how many stars I knew."

Macy won two Emmy awards in 2003 for his role in the made-for-television movie "Door to Door" about the true story of a door-to-door salesman with cerebral palsy. He's been nominated for six other Emmys, an Oscar, and a Golden Globe.

Macy now stars in Showtime's "Shameless," which was just renewed for a third season.

Huffman is best known for her role as Lynette Scavo on ABC's "Desperate Housewives." She received a best actress Oscar nomination in 2006 for her portrayal of a transsexual woman who goes on a road trip with her long-lost son (Kevin Zegers) in the comedy-drama "Transamerica," which was produced and co-written by her husband.

Huffman also starred in the ABC comedy-drama "Sports Night," which was created by Sorkin.

The previous married couple to receive stars on the same day were producers Richard Donner and Lauren Shuler Donner on Oct. 16, 2008.
