NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — An elderly woman drove her vehicle into a video store and Chinese food eatery in North Hollywood Tuesday, causing significant structural damage, police reported..

SKY2 was overhead as rescue crews evaluated the scene at Video Citi, at 12051 Vanowen Street shortly before 6 p.m.

Alva Garcia, 73, said she came to pick up her son from the video store. She was pulling into a parking space when she accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the break.

“People say I’m drunk but I never drink!” Garcia said. “It’s something like my [blood] sugar, because I’m diabetic.”

No injuries were reported.

“She looked really shaken up when she got in, so our main thing was making sure she was OK,” said Video Citi employee Erika Miranda.
