ANAHEIM (CBS) — Officers have fatally shot an armed suspect in an Orange County alley, police reported.

Authorities were responding to a call of a man wielding a handgun at approximately 9:45 p.m. Tuesday along the alley near Haster Street and East Wakefield Avenue, emergency dispatchers reported. Moments after officers arrived gunfire erupted and a suspect was injured.

The man succumbed to his wound and apparently died at the scene.

Dispatchers reported there may be a second suspect on the loose.
