LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- Casper Ware scored 17 points and T.J. Robinson had a double-double as Long Beach State clinched its second consecutive Big West regular-season title with a 64-40 victory over UC Riverside on Saturday.
Robinson had 10 points and 16 rebounds for the 49ers (21-7, 14-0), who will face eighth-seeded UC Davis in the conference tournament opener. Eugene Phelps and Larry Anderson scored 11 points apiece.
Anderson also had one steal to break Lucious Harris’ school record with his 201st. Ware posted three steals, and he and Robinson had four assists apiece.
Phil Martin led the Highlanders (13-16, 6-9) with nine points and 10 rebounds.
The 49ers outshot UC Riverside 43 percent (25 of 58) to 29 percent (17 of 59) and held a 44-34 rebounding advantage.
The Highlanders took Long Beach State to overtime earlier this season before falling 77-70.
