Kobe Calls In 'Sick' And Skips All-Star Media Session

ORLANDO (CBS) - As All-Star weekend approaches, tons of reporters waited and waited for Kobe Bryant to speak at Friday's media session.

After a disappointing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night, I'm sure Kobe was not about to answer 30 minutes worth of questioning concerning his owner Jim Buss and teammate Pau Gasol. So what does Kobe do? Calls in sick, a perfect Kobe excuse.

The players are obligated to attend the longest media session Friday, but since Kobe called in 'sick' he will not be fined.

Reporters from all over the world waited for over 30 minutes until an NBA spokesperson told them he will not be coming.

Kobe, who led the West in votes with 1.4-millon, will have another scheduled appearance Friday night for a special surprise with LeBron James, Omri Casspi, Serge Ibaka and Andrea Bargnani.
