7 Injured When Vehicle Slams Into Crowd Waiting For Bus

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Seven people -- six males and one female -- were injured Wednesday when a vehicle hit them at a bus stop in South Los Angeles.

The injuries range from serious to critical, according to authorities.

The accident was reported at 3:15 p.m., according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

All the victims were taken to hospitals.

According to a MTA spokesperson, the driver was going northbound on the 110 Freeway near a bus station. He entered the bus lane and realizing he entered the station swerved onto the platform in an effort to avoid hitting the bus.

It is unclear if the driver was under the influence.

The investigation into the crash is on-going.
