Pregnant Woman Dragged Underneath Car As It Plows Into Echo Park Pizzeria

ECHO PARK (CBS) — A pregnant woman was struck by a car after the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove into a pizzeria Tuesday evening.

The owner of Buona Pizza Italian Restaurant told KCAL9 that he was working in the kitchen when he heard a loud crash at about 5 p.m.

When Israel Palacios came out, he found a Toyota sedan had driven into the front of his pizzeria and there was a woman screaming from underneath the car.

The woman had been dragged into the restaurant from the sidewalk and was found under the car, bleeding and vomiting.

Palacios told KCAL9 the woman said she was pregnant.

She was transported to County-USC hospital for treatment. Her condition is unknown.

That is a real treacherous corner. I have had and have seen many near misses. Don’t know what to recommend, but there is a school very close to this corner. We can not wait for statistics to pile up as this area becomes more GENTRIFIED….sooner or later the law suits will start hurting political pockets. Come on Mr Villa-Raigoza…step up.

Toddy’s fav. If the food wouldn’t kill you the traffic may. Low budget bad eats. Hope the woman and child are okay.
