Lakers Have Options As The March 15th Trading Deadline Looms

(CBS) -- Things could have been so much different for the Lakers.

Pau Gasol could be in Houston, and Chris Paul could be across the hall, playing for the Lakers.

But since David Stearn's bizarre handling of the vetoed three-team trade, the Lakers front office hasn't come up with any plan to help the team at PG and SF.

And on Sunday night after a blowout loss to the Suns, Kobe Bryant volunteered his opinion on management's handling of Gasol.

"It's just tough for a player to give his all when you don't know if you're going to be here tomorrow," Bryant said. "So I'd rather them not trade him at all. If they were going to do something, I wish they would just … do it. If they're not going to do it, come out and say you're not going to do it."

Teams across the league are clamoring for Gasol.

Derrick Rose wants the Bulls to make a deal, while the Timberwolves seem to love the idea of pairing up Gasol with fellow Spaniard, Ricky Rubio.

Gasol's named has been linked to many teams across the league, so expect the Lakers rumors to be active  until the mid-March trading deadline.
