Runners Take Over Pasadena For Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon
PASADENA (KNX 1070) — Thousands of people gathered in Pasadena Sunday to participate in the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon.
Funds raised during the event are expected to benefit CureMito! -- an organization for mitochondrial disease.
"Mitochondrial dysfunction basically has to do with energy supply -- cell energy supply," Actress Chandra Wilson said on the KNX 1070 Newsline.

"If you're deficient in the energy, then you end up with things like cyclical vomiting syndrome, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal migraines, migraine headaches, and a spectrum of autism and cognitive learning disabilities," she explained.
Wilson, who's perhaps best known for her role as Miranda Bailey on "Grey's Anatomy," participated in the race on behalf of her daughter who is a sufferer of cyclical vomiting syndrome.
The half-marathon at the Rose Bowl kicked off about 7:30 a.m.
