Irvine Woman, 41, Accused Of Committing Lewd Acts On Boy, 14

IRVINE (CBS) — Irvine police arrested a 41-year-old woman Sunday and accused her of committing lewd acts on an underage 14-year-old male.

Officials say Nicole Ethel McMillen has been having sexual relations with the boy over the past six weeks. His parents found out about the alleged relationship and alerted authorities yesterday afternoon.

Detectives reportedly worked overtime to develop evidence in the case. McMillen was arrested at 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Authorities say the alleged sexual activity took place in McMillen's home. Police did not get more specific about the actual acts pending an on-going investigation, according to a written statement from Irvine police.

The suspect's relationship to the victim is not known. But police did say McMillen's part-time position as an aide in the Tustin Unified School District was not a factor in this particular case.

Mark Eliot, director of communications and public information for Tustin Unified School District issued the following statement Sunday evening. "Ms. McMillen is a part-time instructional aide in the school district. School is not in session on Monday due to the holiday. She will be placed on administrative leave on Tuesday and not have any contact with students or employees. Though the case is unrelated to her employment, we are cooperating with the Irvine Police Department during their investigation."

Detectives believe there might be more possible victims. They urged anyone with information to contact Detective Erika Hutchcraft at 949-724-7124 or at ehutchcraft@cityofirvine.org.

McMillen was booked into the Orange County Jail and is being held on $50,000 bail.
