NORCO (CBS) — Three men attempted to kidnap a woman at gunpoint Friday but the victim managed to get away before the suspects could force her into their vehicle, authorities said.
The attack occurred just before 9 a.m. in the 1500 block of Dodge Way, according to the Norco sheriff’s department.
A woman stepping out to get her newspaper was confronted by three men, whom police reported as Hispanic. One of the men pulled out a handgun and ordered the woman to get into a car, authorities said.
“The victim, fearing for her life, fled on foot while simultaneously yelling for help,” according to a sheriff’s department statement. “The
suspects fled the area before deputies arrived.”
The woman was not physically injured.
Anyone with information was urged to call the sheriff’s Jurupa Valley station at (951) 955-2600.
