LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A large boom fell from a crane at a construction site Friday, pinning a man underneath.
The incident was reported at 2:38 p.m. at 835 Staford Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Erik Scott said.
Emergency crews used a fork lift to free the man, Scott said. He was transported to a hospital and listed in critical condition.
The Los Angeles Police Department and Cal OSHA were investigating the circumstances of the mishap.
