Thirsty? LADWP Launches App That Finds Nearest Water Fountains

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power unveiled a new smartphone app to help customers find H2O when they're thirsty.

WeTap, available for the Android Smartphone, uses global positioning system information to locate water fountains nearest the user.

"By utilizing WeTap to locate the drinking fountain nearest them, customers can refill reusable bottles and avoid generating unnecessary waste from the use of disposable plastic bottles," said the utility.
