Whitney Houston Fans To Follow Funeral On Internet

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Whitney Houston will be buried in New Jersey, one week to the day she was found dead in a bathtub in the Beverly Hilton.

The 48-year-old superstar (singer, actress, producer) will be remembered in a private, invitation-only ceremony. More than 1,500 guests are expected, including Chaka Khan,  Valerie Simpson (of Ashford & Simpson fame), music mogul LA Reid, Brandy and her brother Ray J (a sometime Houston boyfriend), singer Darlene Love and cousin Dionne Warwick.

She will be laid to rest at Fair View Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey following a service at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark.

New Hope is the same church where Houston grew up performing, alongside her mother, notable gospel singer Cissy Houston. Fair View is where Houston's father, John Russell Houston Jr., was buried in 2003.

Gospel singer/pastor Marvin L. Winans, a longtime friend of the Houston family and member of the singing Winans family, will give the eulogy. Winans officiated at Houston's 1992 marriage to R&B singer Bobby Brown.

While the ceremony will be private, the family announced that they would stream it on line so Houston's fans worldwide could take part. The ceremony was scheduled to begin 9 a.m. PST.
