NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) — Josh Greene scored 23 points, Vinnie McGhee added 19 points and seven assists, and Cal State Northridge snapped a four-game losing streak with a 94-81 victory over Cal Poly on Wednesday night.
Stephen Maxwell added 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Michael Lizarraga tied a career high with 15 points off the bench for the Matadors (7-17, 3-10 Big West), who shot 57 percent from the field to avenge a 100-54 loss to Cal Poly in January. McGhee hit five of Northridge’s six 3-pointers.
Cal Poly (15-12, 6-7) got 16 points from David Hanson and 15 each from Amaurys Fermin and Chris Eversley. The Mustangs still haven’t had a player score 20 points this season.
Northridge went ahead 44-43 on a John Hayward-Mayhew jumper just before halftime, and the Matadors never trailed again. Two Will Donahue free throws made it 76-71 with 4:58 left, but the Mustangs got no closer.
