LONG BEACH (CBS) — Police say they’ve arrested two men in connection with a series of armed robberies in Long Beach and Huntington Beach.
Tad Lauren Bennett, 27, and Anthony Lee Bearden, 26, both of Long Beach were arrested last Wednesday on suspicion of robbery. Bennett was being held on $50,000 bail and Bearden on $80,000 bail, both in Orange County, according to jail records.
Huntington Beach police had identified a possible suspect vehicle after a witness to a robbery on Feb. 3 gave them a vehicle description and partial license plate, Long Beach police said. That description closely matched that of a suspect wanted in connection with three robberies in Long Beach the week before.
Police say they found the vehicle in Long Beach, where it was stopped by officers. The occupants of the car, Bennett and Bearden, were taken into custody.
Anyone with information about the robberies can call Long Beach Police robbery Detective Rudy Romero at (562) 570-7464.
