Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Feb. 13)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — We are expecting an unsettled week here in the Southland.

Several waves of energy are moving through the west coast, each one will kick up some clouds, generate gusty winds, and could possibly give us a little shower.

There are three waves moving in. The first low pressure center will drop down the coast Monday morning. The cold front however is falling apart as the system approaches, so there is only a slight chance at shower Monday afternoon. Temperatures will be much cooler than average, topping out in the low 60s.

The second wave moves in on Wednesday, this one looks like we could get a shower later in the day. The third wave is expected to reach us over the weekend on Sunday, and again there is a slight chance of a shower.

There is enough lift with each one of these systems to create a thunderstorm, brief heavy downpour, or even a little hail ... so be on the look out. Snow levels are up above 5000', but as the low approaches Monday night, the level could drop to 3500'.

A winter weather advisory is in place from noon Monday to 3 p.m. in all mountain areas. A wind advisory is in place from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in most areas while a high wind warning is in place for Riverside County and the Cochella Valley from noon until 3 a.m. Tuesday.

A high surf advisory is in place for late Monday through Tuesday afternoon.
