Victims In Long Beach Home Invasion Robbery May Have Been Targeted

LONG BEACH (CBS) — Authorities Saturday were investigating a home invasion robbery in Long Beach.

The incident at a residence in the 1500 block of Obispo Avenue occurred about 9:19 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. David Marander of the Long Beach Police Department.

According to authorities, two males forced their way into the home and made off with cash and electronic devices.

“At least one of the suspects was armed with an apparent handgun,” Marander said.”It appears the victim was possibly targeted because he repairs electronic devices.”

No injuries were reported.

No additional information about the suspects was immediately available, Marander said.

Most home invasions are planned. They are not random and the thieves want something specific that they know the owners have!

  2. Robert S. says:

Most home invasions catch people by surprize. Keep doors, and windows in a locked position. Be aware of possible problems in your neighborhood, like bad kids who are a nuisance and tresspass on your property. Be aware of what police blotter states about incidents in your neighborhood, and be “Pro-active” in every facet, and never let your guard down. Being security sensitive will be obviouse to everybody in the “hood”! They only target people they think they can control.
