(UPDATE 7 p.m. Sunday) Power has been restored to half of the customers in Torrance who were without electricity half way through the Super Bowl.
TORRANCE (CBS) — Talk about bad timing!
Nearly 800 customers lost power in Torrance, in the middle of Super Bowl Sunday, a utility official said.
The outage began around 4 p.m. due to some downed wires near 182nd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard, said Vanessa McGrady of Southern California Edison.
“We have crews out working now,” McGrady said. “There are 791 customers affected, and we do not have an estimated time of restoration.”
The cause of the downed wires was unknown.
