NORTHRIDGE (Rachel Scott/CBS) – Zena Edosomwan, a senior center for Harvard-Westlake said prior to the rivalry game against Loyola, “It’s a continuation of a great rivalry of two great teams going up against each other like gladiators.” On Friday night both teams played like gladiators, with Loyola leaving the Matadome at Cal State Northridge with a 77-74 victory.

The Cubs were led by University of Pennsylvania commit Julian Harrell with 23 points, while UCLA recruit Parker Jackson-Cartwright had 11 points and 7 assists.
“These are definitely the most fun games I ever played in, the atmosphere is crazy and I love interacting with the other teams’ student sections. Every game is competitive and it’s a great rivalry. ” Harrell said.
Harvard-Westlake was led by Derick Newton with 26 points and Edosomwan added 24 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort.
“I got two more years, hopefully we’ll get them the next four times we play them.” Newton said.
