Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (January 27)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Wind warnings and advisories are in effect across Southern California.

Powerful gusts are expected to reach 65 mph, but winds of up to 40 mph have already been recorded near the Newhall Pass and Sylmar.

A red flag warning has also been added to the forecast for the evening due to low humidity levels.

Temperatures will still be on the warm side because of the off-shore flow, but it will be cooler than Thursday. We should reach into the upper 70s.

Saturday, the high pressure strengthens a little more with a stronger off-shore flow, which will warm things up by a couple of degrees.

Look for temperatures to cool off Sunday and even more on Monday as a wave of energy moves through the west coast. Right now that system looks dry, but we could see a sprinkle in our mountains.

Temperatures will then rebound by the middle of next week.

Beaches - low 70s
Basin - upper 70s
Valleys - low to mid 70s
Deserts - mid 60s
Mountains - low 50s
