High Wind Advisory Prompts CSU San Bernardino To Cancel Classes

SAN BERNARDINO (CBS) — Officials have canceled classes at Cal State San Bernardino due to a high wind advisory that has been issued for the area.

In addition, labs, meetings and events, including the open house for the Murillo Family Observatory, have also been canceled.

Sustained winds between 32 and 48 mph were recorded Friday morning at the university's weather station.

Operations will continue at school's Palm Desert campus.

For more information, call CSUSB's emergency hotline at (909)537-5999 or visit the university's Web site.

Sustained winds are blowing between 30 to 50 mph in the area, but CBS2 Chief Meteorologist Josh Rubenstein says gusts have the potential to reach 65 mph.
