Report: 7 of 10 Worst Cities To Find A Job In California

RIVERSIDE (CBS) — U.S. News and World Report has the list of the 10 worst cities for finding a job, and it doesn't have good news for California.

Seven of the 10 worst cities for finding a job are in California. No. 9 is the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metropolitan area, one of the hardest-hit housing markets in the nation. According to the report, November 2011 unemployment rate was at 12.5 percent, a year-over-year change of -2.0 percent.

The Bakersfield-Delano region also made the list at No. 7. The report found that although its unemployment rate remains elevated, the region posted one of the biggest jobless rate drops from November 2010 to November 2011, at 2.2 percentage points. The region's November 2011 unemployment rate is at 13.4 percent, a year-over-year change of -2.2 percentage points.

Rounding out the list are these Central and Northern California regions: Visalia-Porterville (No. 5),  Stockton (No. 4), Modesto (No. 3) and Fresno (No. 2).

The worst city to find a job in the U.S.? It's still in California – Merced, to be exact. That city's November 2011 unemployment rate is at 16.9 percent.
