PALMDALE (CBS) — Authorities on Monday sought the public’s help in tracking down thieves who caused significant damage a Palmdale concrete company.

KNX 1070′s Kim Marriner reports the culprits were likely after a suddenly hot commodity: copper wiring.

Earlier this month, Palmdale sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a burglary at the Rialto Concrete Products Plant located on East Avenue T.

“They discovered the suspects entered the property through a cut chain-link fence and stripped over 20 electrical boxes inside the plant,” said Sgt. Pauline Panis.

Detectives said they have seen a sharp jump in this type of crime as the copper core inside wiring commonly used for industrial buildings has become a frequent target for thieves.

The concrete company estimated the cost to repair the damage from the theft at over $100,000.

Most meth labs are ran by white folks. The antelope valley has lots of meth labs. This is true that you speak of many illegal mexican gang bangers, but you cannot place blame only on them. The blacks out here sell pot and steal from ross and dds. So do the asians, they nickel and dime ya thinking everythings an auction. The phillipinos beat and make 3rd class citizens of their wives.
