Soccer Coach Charged With Having Teen Girl Make Porn, Posting It Online

SANTA ANA (CBS)  — A coach of a soccer team in Irvine was charged Monday with having a 13-year-old girl make pornographic videos of herself for him, some of which he allegedly posted online.

Robert Vincent Peace, 45, of Lake Forest, met the girl, who is from Endicott, N.Y., through an online video chat room in 2009, Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Walker said. He had the girl send him videos of herself masturbating, she said.

Peace, a citizen of the U.K., later threatened to post the videos online if the alleged victim did not continue to send new pornographic pictures of herself, Walker said. Peace posted some of the videos online anyway, she alleged.

Prosecutors Tuesday charged Peace, who was arrested Friday, with 16 felonies and a sentencing enhancement allegation for substantial sexual conduct with a child. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

Peace allegedly possessed more than 1,500 images and more than 300 videos of child pornography featuring teenage girls on his computer, the District Attorney's Office said.

Someone in Peace's family came across the alleged child pornography in February of last year and gave the hard drive to Orange County sheriff's deputies, Walker said.

That touched off an investigation headed by the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force, which includes agents from U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement, Orange County Sheriff, and Huntington Beach police.

Investigators suspect there may be more victims because Peace coached the Irvine Blades and other recreational soccer teams that may have included young girls, Walker said.

The charges against Peace include three of lewd acts on a child younger than 14, six of lewd acts on a child, three of contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts on a child, two of using a minor for sex acts and one each of using a child for distribution of obscene material and possession and control of child pornography.
