HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — The Los Angeles County Coroner has identified the murder victim whose head, hands and feet were discovered in Bronson Canyon Park earlier this week.

Authorities have not released the man’s name, but detectives say he was in his 40s, according to KNX 1070’s John Brooks.

LAPD detectives served a search warrant at a Hollywood apartment Thursday night as part of their investigation into the murder.

No arrests have been made in the case, but authorities questioned a possible person of interest at a third-floor apartment in the 6200 block of De Longpre Avenue. A silver car was also towed from the property.

Residents say detectives, who left with a box of evidence, asked how frequently the trash dumpsters at the complex are emptied.

“They just searched it with gloves and that was it,” resident Andrew Hill told CBS2, adding that investigators were at the scene for at least three hours.

Authorities called of their search for more body parts in Bronson Canyon Thursday afternoon, just two days after a professional dog walker and her mother made the first of several gruesome discoveries when one of their dogs led them to a head, which was inside a grocery bag.

Lauren Kornberg tells CBS2 the experience left her shaking.

“I looked over and it rolled down the hill and fell into a ravine,” she said. “I thought it might have been a soccer ball. I turned to my mom and said it actually looked like a head, and so we thought it was maybe some sort of a movie prop. My mom was the brave one and she walked down into the ravine and got close and saw that there was eyes and blood in hair, and that it was, in fact, a human head.”

Detectives Wednesday found two hands and two feet near the initial discovery in the 3200 block of Canyon Drive.
