Person Being Questioned In Hollywood Hills Body Parts Case

HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — A person was being questioned Thursday evening in connection to the dismembered body parts found Tuesday in the Hollywood Hills.

Sources earlier Thursday told CBS2/KCAL9's Suraya Fadel that a person was under arrest and a second arrest was looming. LAPD officials would not confirm that report.

A search warrant was served Thursday at an apartment building on the 6200 block of De Longpre Avenue in Hollywood. Investigators emerged from the building hours later, taking property with them.

A silver car outside the residence was also towed away.

Earlier Thursday authorities ended the search for body parts in Bronson Canyon Park.

One of the largest searches in the Los Angeles Police Department's history was called after investigators failed to find any more body parts on the trails surrounding the Hollywood sign.

The search began Tuesday afternoon after two dog walkers found a man's severed head in a plastic bag in the 3200 block of Canyon Drive.

On Wednesday, police discovered two hands and two feet in shallow graves in the same area.

Authorities are hoping the hands are in good enough condition to get a fingerprint from the victim, a man in his 40s.

Police believe the man was murdered at a different location and the victim's body parts were then scattered in the park.

Bronson Canyon Park will remain closed until Friday morning.
