Skeleton Found Near Lake View Terrace Had Gunshot Wound To The Skull

LAKE VIEW TERRACE (CBS) — A skeleton found in Lopez Canyon in an unincorporated area near Lake View Terrace had a gunshot wound to the skull, a sheriff’s lieutenant said Wednesday.

The remains were located on Monday on Lopez Canyon Road, a half-mile north of Bailey Road, about 11:15 a.m., said Lt. Mary Leef.

Detectives also found a handgun nearby, Leef said.

The coroner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death.

The investigation is continuing, Leef said.

Amazing how little attention this skeleton got, while one found the next day in the Hollywood Hills got so much more attention. Says something about our media’s choices.

It’s possible this was a suicide with the gun being near by and all…A far cry from a fresh head rolling out a bag and a couple of chopped off hands wouldn’t you say?

      eh, that’s hollywood!

The one in Hollywood wasn’t a Skeleton. They were fresh body parts. They couldn’t have been there too long as the coyotes, mt lions, etc. would have gotten to them eventually.

I do agree with what you’re saying though.

the cause was gunshot and the manner was to the head.
