MONTCLAIR (CBS) — Both sides of Interstate 10 reopened Wednesday morning after a fiery big rig crash prompted a seven-hour closure.
The big rig and two cars collided just before midnight Tuesday at the Monte Vista Avenue exit near the Montclair Plaza Mall.
Clean-up efforts lasted through the night because flames destroyed k-rail between lanes. Authorities also wanted to make sure nothing toxic was leaking from the big rig.
Two people who were extricated from one of the cars were airlifted to a local hospital.
Their conditions were not immediately known.
