Take Your Kids to a Rock Concert

Tired of lame train rides around the park with your kid? Then BYOK (kid, that is) and hit a Kidrockers concert. They're rock shows for all ages.

The concert series produces shows in LA, as well as NYC and Chicago. The shows, which have been jammin' out since '07, bring families together to hear some of the most current, vital artists in indie music and comedy. Past LA show artists include Silversun Pickups, Local Natives, Langhorne Slim, The Watson Twins, The Henry Clay People, The Radar Brothers and more.

And the shows are funny, like late-night-comedy-show funny - only all cleaned up. Top comedians host the concerts and interact with the kids during and between sets. It's a good time by all. Kids get exposed to the real deal. Parents get to catch a concert. Ticket prices are reasonable at around $11 per person.

"We love to hear great new music, and so do our kids," says Kidrockers founder Beth Lorge. Adding "We want to create an opportunity for kids and parents to discover artists and get to see them play live in a fun, safe and comfortable environment."

So where can you catch Kidrockers? They were playing at The Echo for years, but are now playing different venues. So stay tuned to their site for upcoming shows, or add yourself to their email list to get advance word. They also play L.A. events and parties. And you can see them as part of FILTER Magazine's Culture Collide Festival in October. Finally, there will be upcoming Manhattan and Brooklyn shows that'll be announced shortly if you're in NYC with your kid, because we know you're probably cool like that.
