Dr. Arthur Glosman's 4 Simple Steps To A Healthier Smile

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — If you're trying to boost your health in the new year, health experts suggest starting with your teeth! Dr. Arthur Glosman stopped by KCAL9 Monday to talk about the importance of dental health.

Since Dr. Glosman began his practice, he has stressed the importance of keeping up oral hygiene daily to benefit his patient's overall health by following his simple 4-step approach to a better, healthier smile.

Step 1: BRUSH - brush after meals, before bedtime, in the morning, and after eating foods that can leave stains on teeth.

Step 2: FLOSS - flossing daily helps dislodge food and bacteria between the teeth, as well those that get caught in the crevices and grooves of the teeth.

Step 3: MOUTH WASH – rinse and gargle with a mouth wash after brushing and flossing; mouth wash can rinse away staining-causing foods as well as physically removing them from the mouth.

Step 4: STAY HEALTHY - Eat a healthy diet, get moderate exercise, manage stress, and see a dentist regularly.
Only 25% of your mouth is reached when cleaning with only a toothbrush.
Rinsing twice a day and flossing once a day helps to ensure that your entire mouth gets clean.
