San Jacinto Man, 51, Charged With Child Molestation

SAN JACINTO (CBS) — Deputies have arrested a 51-year-old San Jacinto man suspected of molesting two youngsters on multiple occasions, the sheriff’s department said Saturday.

Carl Lester Evans was arrested Friday at his home in the 100 block of South Sheriff Street, eight days after two juveniles told authorities he had abused them, a sheriff’s sergeant said.

The alleged abuse was reported on Jan. 5, spurring an investigation.

Evans was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of committing lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14 and other molestation charges, the sergeant said.

Jail records showed that Evans was being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.
