18-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — An 18-year-old woman crossing a street in Garden Grove was fatally struck by a van, according to police.

The accident on Haster Street between Chapman and Allard avenues was reported about 7:15 p.m. Friday, said Garden Grove police Sgt. Carl Whitney.

"The male driver of the van stopped and remained with the downed pedestrian until paramedics and officers arrived at the scene," Whitney said.

The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver was not cited or arrested, police said.
